Even with every day use it will last for 8-10 years!I love this mouse pad! It’s the best one I have ever tried and a bargain in price. The aluminum base is weighted so that it doesn’t move around and the mousing surface is top quality. Highly recommended!Nice solid design but the glue or application process for attaching the pad to the metal is of poor quality. It came with a couple bubbles in it and has sense worsened. Too bad as it is a nice design and suits my need for a solid heavy mouse pad.This is a good mouse pad made of aluminum with a textured insert. I am replacing a plastic one made by Allsop that I have had for years.It looks like cheap inkjet printing from the early 2000s.I have had this thing so long I can't recall when I purchased it. It was at least three years ago when I found it at Best Buy and bought it because it has a solid backing. It has some heft to it as well that I like. It's not easily displaced from its position.Recently I have been having performance issues. The mouse seemed to lag and the surface of the mousepad seemed to be coming apart. It was rough to the touch. I just figured after so many years it was time to invest in a new one. As I read some of the reviews I noticed many who have had their pads much longer than I have so I gave mine a closer inspection and realized it was just dirty. Just like the old days when you had to clean your trackball, now you have to clean the mousepad when gunk builds up.So, long story short, I'm not buying a new one today. Maybe in a few more years.Good, sturdy mouse pad, for a little while. After some use, the pattern started wearing out in the middle of the pad which caused my optical mouse to start behaving in a very inconsistent way.It's a nice mousepad when you first get it. It appealed to me because it had a hard surface and a base that really sticks to the desk. Regular mats always only seem to stick for a short period of time until dust gets until the edge and then you're left with no holding power.BUT THIS MOUSE PAD ONLY LASTED ME 3 MONTHS! I am not an extremely heavy computer user. I game once or twice a week, and don't use the computer much outside of that. But the mouse will no longer move when on the mat. At first I thought it was the mouse or a problem with the computer. Until I set the mouse on my desktop and it worked perfectly. Then I looked at the mousepad more closely and noticed that there are spots that are visibly lighter and smoother than the edges, and when on those spots, I cannot move the mouse (or can barely move it). So I did not get my money's worth. For $20, it should have lasted more than 3 months. Very disappointed.These are excellent, strong and easy to clean and they last for years.
